Located in Islamabad, CESAT actively manages funded projects and research in core areas of science and technology. The Centre works for the private and public sector to provide innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
CESAT has been established for the development of human resources in science and technology for all organizations of the country. In addition advanced graduate and postgraduate level research in collaboration with various universities and organizations is conducted. World renowned  researchers, scientists and faculty are invited to carry out research, teaching and conduct seminars and conferences.
Focus has been placed on eight distinct areas of research and development, which are considered instrumental in the technological development of a country.
